A Review of Research on the Effectiveness of Self-Help Mutual Aid Groups is a very valuable article by Elaina M. Kyrouz, Ph.D. and Keith Humphreys, Ph.D. Veterans Affairs Health Care System and Stanford University School of Medicine, Palo Alto, California.

The Psych Web home page is a huge reference of psychology related materials. Full-length on-line books, links to journals, practice tests and about anything else you would want to find concerning psychology, it will be on or be able to be found from this page

Psychology Self-Help Resources on the Internet which contains links to non-commercial sites providing information and help about specific disorders related to psychology. In addition to this page, Psych Web maintains lists of brochures and articles related to psychology (many of which are related to self-help issues), commercial psychology-related sites on the web, psychology journals on the web, other mega-lists of psychology resources, and scholarly psychology resources on the web.

Community Psychology Net is the web's most comprehensive site regarding the field of community psychology. This page is meant to be a resource for professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, and others who are interested in learning more about the field.

The Mental Health Net is the largest, most comprehensive guide to mental health online, featuring over 6,000 individual resources. This award-winning, fun & friendly site covers information on disorders such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic fatigue syndrome and substance abuse, to professional resources in psychology, psychiatry and social work, journals and self-help magazines. The WebPsych Partnership and The Self-Help Sourcebook Online are both part of The Mental Health Net and are described more fully below.

The WebPsych Partnership is an association of Web developers whose goal is to increase the ease of finding useful and timely information on-line for the average layperson as well as the professional. It also ensures a high standard of quality for all Members' participating sites. This homepage contains a huge list of highly valuable and informative member sites.

Self-Help Sourcebook Online The American Self-Help Clearinghouse administers the Self-Help Sourcebook Online. This guide has been developed to act as your starting point for exploring real-life support groups and networks that are available throughout the world and in your community. The organizations listed in this directory can help you find and/or start a support group in your community.

Psych Central: Dr. John Grohol's Mental Health Page
This is a very well done page, considered to be a one-stop index for psychology, support, mental health issues, resources, and people on the Internet. An excellent collection of resources, links to newsgroups, e-mailing lists, web pages and anything else that relates to psychology and mental health.

The Information Network of Kansas supports a broad variety of Kansas web pages and health related indexes, some of them are of a pay-to-play variety though. Legislative, government, education, health and many other related pages.

Sunshine Online is designed to offer the people of Kansas electronic access to every level of their government. Through the use of original information and multiple hyperlinks to other Web pages, Sunshine Online will allow the user to find information about various Kansas governmental entities in an easy-to-find, one-stop method. Sunshine Online will cover all aspects of the government community, including the State of Kansas, counties, townships, cities, related government associations and educational institutions.

Project Light, an interfaith volunteer caregiver project, assists Wichitans living with serious mental illness, as well as homelessness.
