Vicky became involved as a volunteer at Self-Help Network in August 1996. Since January 2002, Vicky started her practicum with Self-Help Network and soon after became part of the staff. She considers herself lucky in being given the opportunity to work with such fine people but all of us at the Network realize we are the lucky ones.

Vicky earned her B.A. in Psychology in May of 2001 with honors and has recently completed her graduate studies in Social Work.

As part of our Consumer Run Organization (CRO) team, Vicky works with mental health consumer run organizations across the state providing technical assistance, guidance and support.Through the CRO team, she also works with the statewide Consumer Advisory Committee.

As one of the teachers of the Leadership Empowerment and Advocacy Program (LEAP) class, Vicky shares her extensive knowledge of the mental health system and the Recovery Model.

Vicky is also a member of the Research team and is involved with the Consumer Empowerment Research project. Vicky is presently president of Project Independence, a CRO in Wichita, since 1992.

Vicky is also a licensed master of social work.
